I had done nothing to receive such a huge amount of Sterling Pounds One Million from Microsoft Corporation as I am a salaried person earning nuts as compared to the Lottery Amount e-mailed to me. I too received a similar email. It said I had won $1,000,000, but I just can't believe it! The contact person is Dr. Donald Miller, Bill Gates Express Award Consultant London United Kingdom. His email stated I could collect 3 ways; by bank transfer, certified check or come to the United Kingdom. Not happening as I live in Jacksonville, Florida & I do not believe this to be real anyway. I got the same contact info as Kathryn , only mine didn't say anything about the lottery just microsoft . It didn't say in the first contact what you had won but in the second 500,000 pounds sterling with a link to convert that amount into different currencies. Then I was sure it was a bunch of bull and sure enough those email addresses just pop up an expired session of my own email. So if they are using yahoo email accounts why doesn't yahoo stop them ?

I did not receive a e-mail, I received it delivered to my door. I just want to know how these people knew what my address is. I was told I won in the Euro syndicate national lottery. The IDIOT I am got all exited and completed the attached form with my I.D no and banking details and contact details as well as my postal address. I figured I had nothing to loose. But know I don't know so much. The letter came all the way from spain. The company I had to fax my details to was CORREDOR DE SEGUROS S.A. and the contact person was JOSE MARTINEZ GOMEZ. I hope nothing bad comes from this.

vivek - It is fraud. Specifically, it is a variation on a scam called advance fee fraud. The most famous type of advance fee fraud is the Nigerian 419 but these fake lottery wins are now very common too.

In both types, the bait is the promise of a substantial windfall. When you reply to the scammer, he will invent some reason why you must first pay him some comparatively smaller amount (an advance fee) to help him to oil the wheels of the process which will eventually pay you.

The scammer then takes your money and never pays you anything. There are no vast winnings. You have won nothing.

Send NO money and refrain from any further contact.

If they ask you to send another email to Amtrak Courier International don't as I am not going to, after reading the comments on this web page Never give your bank or passport No ever to these crooks I was confused on how these folk could get the win over to my country in 48 hours with reading on this page it looks very clear they are very cheaky and they could use your passport number to get a false passport.

I got this email today and I just laughed. If it were only that simple to get rich. I feel sorry for people who write back to them. No legitimate lottery is going to contact YOU via email, especially when you never entered any type of lottery drawing or contest. The scams I have heard of the most are that you advance funds, or first they send you a bogus money order and then you send some back. Don't do it!

I received the same email on 11/05/08stating that I was one of the 10 winners of 450,000.00 from Philip Jason and he sent a copy of his id (WHY) and he keeps sending back to back emails stating to send email back within 24hrs. Why would you have to pay for a lottery. I just deleted the emails. The picture looks made up!!
