1. Jason Alexander is not the same as John Cleese. Apparently, quite a few brits have no idea who Jason is though in my experience he is well known and not just for Seinfeld. Put this down to the fact that the Beeb originally bought Seinfeld, then showed it on BBC2 at 2 in the morning so no-one watched it. Of course now we get endless reruns on Paramount Comedy, but who has time for that?
   
   
2. Hannover is not the same as Hanover. Or hangover for that matter though this appears not to be a problem for some.
   
   
3. There is apparently such a prefix as kibi, as in kibibyte. This doomed neologism appears to be an attempt to reclaim kilo to mean 1,000 or 10³ instead of 1,024 or 2¹⁰. I have news for you. K means 1,024. Those of you who believe you fixed the whole Y2K thing and have not yet reached retirement age and are still working in IT at the stroke of midnight on 31 December 2047 are in for a shock.

And I have no idea what the sight of 6 kibigeeks simultaneously trying to update their blogs via the same overpriced WiFi while attempting to appear interested and engaged in what is actually going on around them is like. No doubt that omission will soon be corrected. I expect Volker has some nice shots.

I was wondering the same thing - what were the speakers thinking as they looked out at the audience and saw 6 kibigeeks blogging. It wasn't too bad with the Blackberry's, but all those people hammering at notebooks? How much attention was really being paid to the speaker (or was it just the slides)?
