The Great Google Quake of '03

As a survivor of the
Great Dudley Quake of '02, I have been through a lot.
Nothing prepared me for my Google Quake over the past 24 hours though.
I had written about
Sobig previously. It is interesting to spam fighters because of the fact that it installs a proxy server on compromised machines, which can then be used (and very often
is used) as a conduit for spam. I had also speculated on the next generation of the worm, Sobig.F.
Of course Google, bless its little cotton socks, had picked this up and when the first wave of Sobig.F victims dutifully executed a .pif attachment that came to them in an unexpected email with the simple exhortation "Please see the attached file for details" (I mean COME ON people; will you
ever learn?), then frantically started googling for a cure...
Well... They found me. And the more they clicked through to me, the higher up the Google ranking I got until... Everyone with a Sobig.F infection was looking here for a cure. That'll teach me.
